Last year, 29,299 people received emergency care at The Miriam Hospital. Emergency services are available seven days a week, 24 hours a day.

The department is staffed by 11 emergency services board certified physicians and about 40 nurses. The department serves an average of up to 100 patients per day, and treats a full spectrum of adult and pediatric illnesses.
