Child Life Services:
The School at Hasbro Children's Hospital

The hospital school has a unique hospital-based curriculum modified to meet patient needs which includes:

• Group school
• Bedside tutoring
• Modern, progressive classrooms
• Multimedia and online computers
• CCTV educational programming

The certified teachers of the hospital school work closely with the child life, medical, nursing, social work, and rehabilitation staff. The hospital school teachers understand the specialized needs of hospitalized children and may consult with the patient's home teacher to provide an appropriate level of academic challenge.

Written parental permission allows our teachers to contact the patient's home school for assignments and to consult with school personnel throughout the hospitalization.
