Do I Need Emergency Services?

Situations which usually require emergency services include:

  • Chest pain

  • Difficulty breathing that is not rapidly improving

  • Sudden numbness, weakness, disorientation or difficulty speaking

  • Sudden severe headaches (with no prior history of migraines)

  • Severe bodily injury accompanied by uncontrollable bleeding

Remember, in an emergency room patients are triaged according to the severity of their situations, not on a first-come, first-served basis. Patients who require the most immediate services are treated first.
