Emergency Facilities
Rhode Island Hospital is dedicated to maintaining a state-of-the-art
emergency facility. The Andrew F. Anderson Emergency Center has served as a model for several other
departments nationally.
The facility includes:
- 4 fully equipped critical care rooms (8-10 patient capacity)
with independent x-ray and full monitoring capability
- radiation and hazardous materials decontamination suite
- 6 procedure rooms
- dedicated CT scanning and ultrasound within the department
- complete diagnostic imaging capability, including three fully
equipped x-ray suites and reading room for processing the approximately
250 studies that are ordered each day
- dedicated stat laboratory, as well as a mini-lab within the
department
- fiberoptics and photographic equipment
- 35 individual treatment beds
