Training Program Overview

One of the the main goals of the Centers is to educate the next generation of outstanding researchers through training in the scientific disciplines of behavioral and preventive medicine. The Centers provides a supportive environment for research and training that embodies the values of integrity, respect and collegiality. 

Currently, the Centers includes over 50 faculty members and trainees collaborating actively with each other and with other centers and departments at Brown (campus based, medical school and public health), inter-institutionally and internationally. The Centers has a nationally recognized pre-doctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship training program in behavioral medicine. There are several formal training opportunities at the Centers.

Justin Nash, PhD, is the Director of Training and Education for the Centers.  In addition, he is the coordinator of the Health Psychology/ Behavioral Medicine track in the Brown University Clinical Psychology Training Consortium.  He also serves as the training coordinator and is a  co-investigator on the NCI funded R25T cancer prevention and control training grant.
